The excitement is building as the FIFA World Cup 2026 approaches! This will be the first-ever World Cup hosted by three countries: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. If you’re eager to attend this historic event, now is your chance to participate in the first phase of ticket sales, which has officially begun with the Visa Pre-Sale Lottery.
Step 1: Register for the Visa Pre-Sale Lottery
Starting on September 10, 2025, the registration for the Visa Pre-Sale Lottery is now open! Fans who wish to buy tickets for the tournament need to create a FIFA ID on the official FIFA website at FIFA.com/tickets. Registration is open until September 19, 2025 (Brasilia time), giving you only a short window to secure your spot for the chance to buy tickets during the lottery.
This lottery is exclusive for Visa cardholders, but anyone can register as long as they meet the eligibility requirements. It’s completely free to sign up, and you don’t need to make a purchase to participate.
Step 2: Understand How the Lottery Works
Once you’ve registered, you will be automatically entered into the Visa Pre-Sale Lottery. FIFA will randomly select participants, and those who are successful will receive a notification by September 29, 2025 via email. You will then be given a specific time and date to purchase tickets, starting from October 1, 2025.
The Visa Pre-Sale phase is the first opportunity to buy tickets for the FIFA World Cup 2026, and while it doesn’t guarantee availability, it gives you early access to secure your spot at this iconic event. Note that not all registered users will be selected, and ticket availability will depend on demand.
Step 3: Prices and Ticket Availability
The first phase of ticket sales will offer tickets for group stage matches starting at $60 USD. However, prices can go up significantly, with the most exclusive seats for the final match reaching $6,730 USD. The lottery will give you a chance to secure these tickets before they are made available to the general public.
Step 4: What Happens After the Pre-Sale Lottery?
If you are not selected in the Visa Pre-Sale Lottery, don’t worry! There will be additional phases of ticket sales:
-
Phase 2: Early Draw (October 27-31, 2025): This phase will include a registration process followed by a lottery, with ticket sales taking place in November and early December.
-
Phase 3: Random Draw for Specific Matches: After the group draw for the World Cup, this phase will allow fans to request tickets for specific matches once the tournament’s matchups are confirmed.
Step 5: Additional Sales Phases
The final ticket sales phase will be a first-come, first-served basis, and it will allow fans to purchase any remaining tickets closer to the tournament in 2026. Keep in mind that additional products like Fan Tickets (for supporters who want to sit with their team’s fans) and Conditional Tickets (for fans who want to reserve tickets for potential knockout stage matches) will be available later.
Step 6: Stay Safe When Purchasing Tickets
For safety and transparency, FIFA recommends purchasing tickets only through the official FIFA.com/tickets website. Any tickets purchased from unofficial channels may be invalid. FIFA is also launching an official ticket resale platform, where eligible fans can resell their tickets in accordance with regulations.
